What is a gasoline engine water pump?

The gasoline engine water pump is a centrifugal pump. The working principle of a centrifugal pump is that when the pump is filled with water, the engine drives the impeller to rotate, thereby generating centrifugal force. The water in the impeller channel is thrown to the periphery and flows into the pump casing under the action of centrifugal force, so the pressure at the center of the impeller decreases. This pressure Lower than the pressure in the water inlet pipe, water flows from the suction pool into the impeller under the action of this pressure difference. In this way, the water pump can continuously absorb water and supply water continuously.

A gasoline engine is an electric spark ignition internal combustion engine that uses gasoline as fuel. Gasoline engines generally adopt a reciprocating piston structure, which is composed of a body, a crank connecting rod mechanism, a gas distribution system, an oil supply system, a lubrication system and an ignition system.

The general system components of a small gasoline engine are:

(1) Crankshaft and connecting rod system: including piston, connecting rod, crankshaft, needle bearing, oil seal, etc.

(2) Body system: including cylinder head, cylinder block, crankcase, muffler, protective cover, etc.

(3) Fuel system: including fuel tank, switch, filter, sedimentation cup and carburetor, etc.

(4) Cooling system: including cooling fans, draft hoods, etc. Some backpack spray dusters have a cooling port on the rear volute of the large fan, and the cooling airflow is led out by the draft hood, so there is no need for a separate cooling impeller.

(5) Lubrication system: The two-stroke gasoline engine uses a mixed oil lubrication and oil supply system that combines gasoline and lubricating oil. The lubrication and oil supply of the four-stroke gasoline engine are separated, and the crankcase is equipped with a lubricating oil level gauge.

(6) Gas distribution system: The four-stroke gasoline engine consists of intake and exhaust valves, rocker arms, push rods, tappets and camshafts. The two-stroke gasoline engine does not have intake and exhaust valves. Instead, the cylinder block has an air inlet, an air outlet, and a ventilation port, and the piston moves up and down to open or close each air hole.

(7) Starting system: There are two structures, one is composed of a starting rope and a simple starting wheel; the other is a rebound starting structure with spring combination teeth and a protective cover.

(8) Ignition system: including magneto, high-voltage wires, spark plugs, etc. There are two types of magnetos: contact type with sparkover frame structure and non-contact type electronic ignition circuit.

Advantages of gasoline engine water pump

Gasoline engines are lighter than diesel engines, have lower manufacturing costs, less noise, and better starting performance at low temperatures, but have lower thermal efficiency and high fuel consumption rates. Motorcycles, chain saws and other low-power power machinery often use two-stroke air-cooled gasoline engines in order to be lightweight and cheap; stationary low-power gasoline engines mostly use four-stroke water-cooled engines in order to have a simple structure, reliable operation and low cost. ; Cars and light trucks mostly use overhead valve water-cooled gasoline engines. However, as fuel consumption issues become more and more important, diesel engines are increasingly used in such vehicles; engines used in small aircraft are mostly hemispherical in order to be lightweight and have high power.
